                                EVER PROMISING, NEVER FULFILLING!

 It was a semi-final competitive football match for Nigeria under-20 team in 2005 FIFA World Cup, when one of the commentators’ words struck my heart. The team’s captain was Isaac Promise who failed to use a chance for goal as he had done in the previous games. Being disappointed by his display, the commentator said “Promise is full of promises but never delivers”.

I thought about this statement throughout the night. One can show a lot of potentials that never become credentials. No wonder so many dreams never happen. Many visions remain only in the mouth. You can never be truly happy in life until you fulfill that potential, divine ability, gifts, talent and God’s special grace upon you on this earth. That is why Prov. 13:19 said “The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul…” If it remains A DESIRE in the heart, it is not sweet. That is what brings uncomfortable state and unhappiness when you are only carrying a desire. However, once that desire is ACCOMPLISHED, sweetness comes upon the soul.

The journey of destiny is so long for the entire lifespan the LORD allocates unto you. Robert H. Schuller said “It is never ending”. When a child remains a baby for long, that “baby attitudes” that people cherish as a baby will now irritate them. Why? The promise over the baby is not fulfilling.

As I read the scriptures, the Holy spirit gave me this powerful message and I believe it will bless you as it is blessing me: EVER PROMISING, NEVER FULFILLING! It is also seen as ever learning, never knowing; ever praying, never powerful; ever working, never getting result; ever trying, never get trusted. This can make one to be frustrated. Are you frustrated that things are not working despite the way you are trying so hard to make it work? This message is for you. Note that this message is not for the lazy ones, who never try at all. Everyone who is a success today will tell you that he/she has tried and failed. Those who never try at all are even worse. So, what can make one to be trying to get close to something only to discover that the result looks to be getting farther at every step you take closer.

The LORD spoke unto me from 2 Timothy 3:7 “Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth”. The points I will outline in the next episode will reveal the answers. If you see anyone one in your life, please allow the LORD to work on you. It is my desire that you become whom the LORD wants you to be. You will get there in Jesus’ name

    Please dad I have this question: in an instance whereby a child of God finds himself in an unpalatable circumstances not as a result of his choice but perhaps that of his parent. What can be done?

      Thank you Mary for this intelligent question. I don;t think that anybody can make any choice for anyone on earth. Your parents cannot make your choice for you if you don't consent to it. A child is expected to be under the parents' control and leadership until he/she matures enough to make choices, by then, he/she cannot shift the blame to the parents anymore.The choices parents make when you are under them affect them not you. You may only share from the outcome (which is just temporary), they become the victims of their choices.for instance if one is brought up in a broken home,you are just affected by that background, the divorcees are the victims of their choices. You will have opportunity to make your marital choice later which you cannot attach the blame to the parents even if they counsel you into it. you make the decision.
      In any case, the LORD is a God of choice. If we see the choices we make and not only use the circumstances to shift responsibility and be complaining,, the LORD knows how to help us out. Thank you.

      You do not have POWER to make choice, you only have FREEDOM to choose.. All people in the world choose from what the LORD made available by His power .
      In every gift of God, it is either a man's choice or God's choice. when it is man's choice, it is NOT God's plan. It is God's plan when it is God's choice. In everything with or without God's name, the choice maker is the CEO in charge. .

      Thanks for the question. It is well put in the context that putting the principles to work puts the covenant to work. You do what you know. there is nobody that knows the truth and not do it, the person actually claiming to know what he/she does not know. i hope your question is answered. If not let me know.
